It’s our favorite time of the year! All your family members are in town, cozy nights around the fire come in surplus, Christmas with the Kranks is on in the background and Uncle Joe’s famous snickerdoodle cookies are in the oven. And we almost forgot about the tacky holiday decorations… It’s that time of the year when there’s a fine line between festive and tacky. As a real estate agent, you know those Santa Claus toilet seat covers don’t make for a great photoshoot. Here are seven reasons our Virtual Staging Suite is about to save the holidays.
1. The red wine just made it onto the couch.
By now you probably know how much we love wine. We talk about it all the time. But that doesn’t mean we love it on the couch. Whether it’s a Cabernet Sauvignon or a Malbec, that red stain doesn’t just go away with ease. You even tried all the old wives’ tales and to your dismay, they didn’t work. Problem solved, we can use Virtual Redecorate to pop a new couch in its place.
2. The elf on the shelf is scary.
Even if you and the kids are into this game, you have to admit those beady little eyes following you around aren’t everybody’s vibe. Especially when you find them in places you didn’t leave them. Lucky for you and potential homebuyers, Virtual Declutter can get rid of that elf once and for all.
3. The kids opened all their presents and there’s wrapping paper everywhere.
It’s under their beds, on the ceiling fans, stuck in the Christmas tree, the cat is running around with some of it… we could keep going. You can try to get as much of it in the trash as possible, but you’ll find a few sneaky little pieces got left behind when you look at the photos later. Instead of doing a reshoot, just use Virtual Declutter to trash the rest of it.
4. Santa’s reindeer left little droppings on the front lawn.
Yeah, we went there. Eight reindeer, one Santa, probably not a lot of cleaning going on. After all, he has about 75 million homes to get to. We would be mad, except he just dropped off our presents. Really the only thing left to do here is upgrade to Green Grass for the photographs and call someone to take care of that smelly problem later.
5. No one told you that Uncle Joe was bringing his own Santa inflatable.
Face it. These things are a bit much (sorry not sorry if you have one). But an aggressively large inflatable right on your front lawn doesn’t exactly scream “curb appeal.” Sorry Joe, we’ll be Virtually Staging the front lawn. As far as the pros of Virtual Staging goes, we’ll say helping potential buyers envision their own tasteful front lawn instead of Joe’s decorations is a win.
6. The kids were crafting and made snowballs out of glitter.
You thought you hid the glitter. You would have even bet money on it. But you know kids, they always seem to figure things out. You only left them alone for a few minutes, but that’s really all it takes. Now you’ve got glitter in places it doesn’t belong, like on the walls. You should probably Virtual Paint that wall. Not everyone likes glitter. Sigh.
7. The Christmas lights would look better at dusk.
Your homeseller is pretty proud of their decorations this year. They’re the Martha May Whovier of the neighborhood. Only thing, they wish they would have scheduled a twilight shoot to really emphasize the win. Luckily, you can just use Virtual Twilight to help them rub it in their neighbors’ faces.
Come to think of it, a lot of your listings would look better at dusk… take it from Coldwell Banker agent Harry Parson, who uses Virtual Twilight regularly and really makes all his listings stand out in the neighborhood crowd.
When the holidays don’t provide you with all the best scenarios before a shoot, the Virtual Staging Suite can really come in handy. Now you can invite Uncle Joe back next year. It would be a shame to miss out on the cookies.
