Sometimes people buy a home for its structure. Sometimes they buy for its floor plan, its landscaping, or its kitchen. But we all know the saying that everything boils down to location, location, location. After living a year and a half in an apartment with a living room window that faces a brick wall, I think that old adage can be reinterpreted to read, “Everything boils down to the view, the view, the view.” The following examples just prove my point.

This is one of the most amazing snaps of Chicago I’ve ever seen. This photo has everything. The lake, Michigan Ave, Millenium Park, and my personal favorite touristy attraction, The Bean. Click for the enlarged photo, the thumbnail really doesn’t do it justice.
This room is light, bright and airy. The metallic table lets all of that natural New York light bounce all over the room.
View + Shade = win-win in Boca Raton, Florida.
Impressive floor to ceiling windows are even better when paired with an amazing view.
When the emphasis of a room is actually outside of the room, less is definitely more. The minimal furnishings in this room work together to provide a place to sleep and relax while never obscuring the fact that this bedroom’s best “decoration” is the view. I would love to wake up to this every morning.

Sometimes all you need is a little green. Green grass and trees that is. Sun rooms should be required to have a view this pretty and peaceful.
This somewhat sparse great room sets the stage for every bit of available sunlight to stream in and light up the room.
