If you’ve turned on the news or stepped outside, you know today’s temperatures aren’t merely those of another hot, sticky summer day. “‘Potentially deadly’ heat wave grips two-thirds of U.S.,” reads a Washington Post headline. Many other news outlets express a similar gravitas. So, before we proceed with a lighter take on this subject, please do your research and plan for a safe weekend!
Now, without further ado, let’s transport away from this hellish heat and into a gallery of cool pools!
Voila! Here we are at our first pool! One of Florida’s many beloved vacation destinations, Fort Lauderdale is home to many pool owners. This one caught our eye with its compact yet unique design. An elevated hot tub sits at the corner of this L-shaped amenity. Overshadowing it is a tall ring, adding a striking 3-D effect for onlookers. And, though it isn’t quite an infinity pool, it gives the illusion of one as water flows over the top of its entryway.
Second, we arrive in Auburn, California. We’re fans of this backyard getaway for how it’s integrated with the surrounding natural scenery. The trees and undergrowth envelop this home’s residents in a serene environment as they take in a California sunset. Quite a canvas of color.
We’re flying back to the east coast… back in Florida! Just west of Fort Lauderdale, Plantation, FL is where this posh pool resides. It’s secluded by a tree-lined perimeter, similar to the Auburn backyard haven. This luxurious lagoon, however, is a bit more upscale as it flaunts a centered water feature.
Fourth, we have the ultimate bachelor/bachelorette pad. Among Chi-town’s finest, this penthouse provides a panoramic view to a world-class city skyline. All the cool kids party here. (Fun-fact: rent for this place is $45,000/month… yes, $45k per month. Let that sink in.)
If you’ve watched the TV show, Empire, you’ll recognize this as Lucious Lyon’s mansion. This 17,597-square-foot home sits on more than eight acres of land in Barrington Hills, Illinois. The backyard-pool venue is the epitome of luxury. Needless to say, parties held here make Jay Gatsby’s look like tall tales. (Get it? He was a fictional character.)
Alright, now that we are dried off and done drooling, let’s return to reality!… Sigh.
Thanks for joining our cool pool tour! Now, we want to hear from you. Which was your favorite? What features do you prefer in a personal pool? Is your taste more of the simple and serene or the out-there and opulent? Comment for a chance to win your own backyard makeover!… Just kidding, but we’re genuinely interested to hear from you!
