Two hundred forty one years ago, the 13 colonies declared independence from Great Britain and became a country of their own. But now we celebrate by setting off fireworks, eating, and having a few drinks. Eighty percent of Americans will be at a cookout munching on watermelon, baked beans, hamburgers and hot dogs. But hopefully not as many hot dogs as the record of 68 in 10 minutes.
Americans consume about 155 million hot dogs each year on the 4th of July. It would be a shame if you didn’t contribute to that statistic. So here are five of the best backyards to grill out in, eat hot dogs (or whatever the veggie lovers are bringing to the party) and watch the fireworks.
