What makes a style Moroccan? Well, I admit, I am not an expert, but I have certain associations. When I think of Morocco I think of marketplaces and long gauzy skirts and curtains. I think of furniture in jewel toned colors with intricate patterns. Tiles and decor with geometric patterns. And, of course, comfortable seating with over-sized pillows and poofs.
What looks do you associate with Morocco? Please share them with me in the comments. Also, please forgive me if some of these photos are not technically Moroccan or Mediterranean, it’s just the vibe I get from this gorgeous home. All Photos by VHT.
The exterior of this home looks like a permanent vacation. Easy going and natural with an exotic allure. And this house, located in Palm Beach, just happens to be on Jungle Road. How Perfect.
Moroccan style can be bold, colorful and exciting. Pause for just a second to take in this beautiful living room. The curtains, the splashy furniture (the pouf!), the elegant fireplace, the detailing on every surface, even the stenciling on the ceiling and wood beams scream Morocco to me.
This gorgeous shade of aqua sets the tone for a relaxing Moroccan retreat.
This room is a bonanza of Moroccan flair. I think decorating in this style always brings a sense of luxury and richness to a home.
Lanterns, jewel tones, and arches. We must be in Morocco now.
Morocco is known for its gorgeous handmade tile, so this just wouldn’t be a properly inspired home without some fantastic tiling. In Morocco, the patterns are traditionally geometrical mosaics, and the tiles are used mainly on walls, ceilings, fountains, floors and pools.
All that home and a gorgeous ocean view. Talk about paradise.
