There are a lot of people out there whose friendships we envy. Maybe you even have one, like retired LA Lakers, Kareem and Magic. But if you’re lucky, your friendship is the whole team. With the right amount of communication, a successful friendship and a successful team aren’t too different. @properties agent Leigh Marcus and his team have been working with VHT Studios’ photographer Serhii for three years and they are the role models we all need.
Leigh and Serhii make it look easy. Moving from room to room with such technique, it doesn’t take long to perfect the shoot. It doesn’t even take many words to perfect the shoot. They have such an understanding of each other’s style, that the images are completed with ease. “I figured out Leigh’s sense of aesthetics and approach to selling real estate. I came away with a better understanding of his needs and built trust.”
But there’s no “I” in team. Leigh and his team wouldn’t be the same without Serhii. “He is an extension of our team– my team members trust him and so do our sellers. Serhii truly cares about his work and that the photos come out properly.” Having a team dynamic this strong even makes the clients happier. Serhii highlights specific features in their best light so that sometimes Leigh’s clients don’t even recognize their own place.
Building a relationship with the team isn’t as simple as it sounds and being the preferred photographer doesn’t just come with the job. According to Serhii, “It requires more communication and coordination than with a solo agent. There are at least four people in the office that regularly reach out to me to schedule shoots, so I am very diligent with keeping my calendar updated. In the field, I’m usually working with one of Leigh’s showing agents, so I end up developing relationships with them as well.”
With an agent like Joe Hosch there to assist, the process moves with just as much ease. It’s even more efficient when everyone on the team is there together, even VHT Studios’ Floor Plan Artist Dan. With the whole team in action, the listing gets taken care of at once and communication is second nature.
Joe still learns a few things when the whole team is together. “Working with an agent as successful as Leigh gives me the opportunity to see how he has been able to have the success that he does. I can apply some of his techniques to my own business.”
Like Leigh and the team, when you’re customer obsessed, it’s easy to pick up the phone and be proactive. When you’re proactive as opposed to reactive, you can anticipate what’s coming next and get at least one step ahead. Leigh also changes the game by being proactive about who he partners with. “Utilize the highest quality partners, like VHT Studios, that execute the highest level of service you want to deliver.” Even though Joe and Leigh aren’t always working in the same group, they still share thoughts and ideas and learn more about the business.
In Joe’s experience, building a smart and efficient real estate team is all about communication and understanding everyone’s expectations. “Work with people that will do a great job, you trust, and that will give suggestions on how to improve. Serhii does great work and really knows what Leigh and the team are looking for.”
When your entire real estate team is on the same page, moving listings is quicker and making the client happy is easier. Sometimes you just get each other, ya know?
